The Preston Player Art Collection

Preston Player was a collector of books, maps and prints relating to the Mississippi River.

Upon his death his collection came to Knox College at the suggestion of Edward Caldwell (Class of 1886, Trustee, & Honorary). The print collection of over 150 works includes some of the earliest views of the Mississippi and towns along the river, in addition to nearly thirty Currier and Ives lithographs.
