Reference Sources

Reference materials are dictionaries, encyclopedias, atlases, etc. and are great places to begin your research. The library has an entire room of these materials on the first floor of Seymour Library and in the Science & Math Center library. Additionally, the library subscribes to a large number of these resources online. This means entire encyclopedias are available for you to search online. Two online providers you are likely to encounter are: Credo Reference and Sage eReference.

The following list of selected reference sources is organized by subject using the Library of Congress classification. You may wish to consult a reference librarian for assistance in using this online collection or the print reference collections in the Seymour and Science & Math Center libraries.

Some items in this list (marked with the   symbol) are only available to Knox College students, faculty and staff. If you are not connected to the Knox network, see the instructions for accessing resources from off-campus.

Search over 350 reference sources with Credo Reference.
