Independent Majors

Students are encouraged to consider an independent major when they have interests in multiple disciplines.Students are encouraged to consider developing an independent major when they have a keen interest in a substantial set of intellectual issues bridging courses in multiple disciplines. Students work with two or more faculty members to design a course of study for the independent major that combines work in several departments.
