Create an Endowed Chair
An endowed chair is a great way to honor a professor who had a major impact on your life. A faculty chair can be established with a minimum of $1.5 million for chairs in existing academic programs and $2 million for professorships in new and high demand fields.
There are a number of options available to donors to make an endowed chair a reality, such as:
- Using appreciated stock or other marketable assets.
- Using a charitable lead trust (CLT) to provide Knox with a source of funds to establish an endowed chair, then return the assets back to the donor or the donor's family.
- Using a hybrid philanthropy plan to fund an endowed chair over time while providing current operating funds to pay a faculty salary today.
- Establish a chair through an estate commitment.
We will help you create an individualized funding plan for your specific situation.
