Q. What is the best way to make a gift to Knox?

A.  It is up to you -- you can give online, send us a check by mail, or call us toll free at 1-888-566-9265 to make your gift. Our office is always happy to assist you in making your donation, so please call or e-mail us if you need help or if you would like to know how to divide your gift into smaller payments. We are aware that many of you are on tight budgets.

We would like to have your gift by June 30, 2012 so it can count for this fiscal year -- and your gift will go to work right away to help current students. 

Q. Since Roger Taylor is gone, Knox must not need our money anymore, correct? Isn't Knox "financially impregnable"?

A. We wish that were the case! Roger did a lot to advance the College during his tenure at Knox. But the reality is that financial support from alumni and other supporters is needed now more than ever and will be in the future.

You may not have realized it when you were a student, but tuition money does not cover a full year at Knox. That money actually runs out in mid to late February! In order to provide a full year of education and support for students, the College relies on donations from alumni, parents, and friends to make up the difference.

Your donations are put to immediate use supporting Knox's mission, its students, and its educational program. Just as others supported you while you were at Knox, you can make a difference for our current and future students.

Q. May I designate my donation to a specific purpose?

A. Yes, you may! Some donors set priorities for the use of their gifts. All giving forms and the online giving link include options to designate your gift support. Just let us know where you would like it to go, or call us if you have questions. You may also choose to give in installments -- quarterly, monthly, etc. -- in order to make it easier for you to donate to Knox.

Q. How does my gift make a difference?

A. Every donation, no matter the size, matters! It counts toward alumni participation and, combined with other gifts, counts toward needed financial aid or services at the College. For example, 50 people from your class who give $50 per year (a little more than $4 per month) can provide a $2,500 scholarship for a student. Fifty people from your class who give $25 per year can pay for grounds maintenance at Knox for a couple of days or keep the lights on for a period of time.

Your gift can really make a difference this year! The Dodransbicentennial Challenge for Young Alumni is happening and you can help raise an extra $10,000 for Knox if you give a gift of any amount. Give now!

Q. How can we contribute to the well-being of Knox? Our classes are too young to have an impact.

A. In the past decade, Knox's young alumni have been very philanthropic, and your classes have helped us to raise our overall participation rate each year. Many schools would love to have their young alumni giving at the same level as Knox's.

In addition, Knox recognizes those who give every year since graduation as Star Donors. If you give to Knox every year since your graduation, you will see a star by your name in the Honor Roll of Donors and also on your name tags at Knox events. Star donors can only be Knox alumni!

If for some reason you miss a year, you will still be honored for making a gift -- we use other symbols for years of continuous giving and thank you stickers on name tags. We appreciate all of our donors for helping us set the tone for another 175 years!
