What is the Senior Challenge?
The Senior Challenge is Knox's Senior Class gift program. The "challenge" comes from the chair of the Knox Fund Steering Committee; he/she challenges the Senior Class to make a significant gift to the Knox Fund.
If the Senior Class members meet that challenge, the chair will match the total class gift up to $2,500. Last year's Challenge was to raise $10,000 or more and/or beat last year's class participation. The Class of 2011 reached both of these goals!
Who makes up the Senior Challenge Committee?
Senior leaders of the class make up the committee. Committee members personally ask 12-15 classmates for a gift or pledge of support in honor of the Senior Class and Knox College.
How much does the Senior Class raise for the class gift?
Recent classes have raised anywhere between $9,000 and $16,500 for the class gift. The Class of 2006 shattered the record with $16,488 in gifts. The Class of 2003 still holds the all-time participation record with 94% of the class participating in Senior Challenge.
How is my class doing?
The Class of 2012 has begun its campaign - you can see the results to date here. Thanks to all who gave at the Almost There Fair. If you did not get your pledge card at the Fair, you will receive it in the mail or a committee member will be contacting you to talk about the Challenge. Or, print one here!
How do I make a contribution to the Senior Challenge?
You can give now if you wish!
Do we get a thank you gift for contributing to the Senior Challenge?
Yes - we have given out coffee mugs and glasses in the past. The Class of 2012 committee will decide on the design for the glass - if you give $10.00 or more to the Challenge, you will receive a glass. The glasses will be distributed in mid-May- watch for details.
If you give $100.00 or more to the Challenge, you will be recognized as a new donor in our young alumni giving society, the John Huston Finley Society, a branch of the President's Circle.
