Students will be presented with a unique opportunity to step back from the hectic pace of coursework and extracurricular involvements to take stock in the purpose of their academic career; ask questions they might have about Knox's educational plan, services and resources; and to learn about special opportunities that will help them reach their postgraduate goals. The Fall Institute will begin with a kick-off event featuring "Fajitas, Greens and All In Betweens" comedy show beginning at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16 in Kresge Theatre, CFA. On Wednesday, October 17, classes will be suspended and faculty, students, and staff will participate in a series of events that will provide practical, hands-on time to shape and define individual goals, milestones, and educational plans toward a purposeful and goal-driven academic career. See the schedule and session details. The Fall Institute will conclude with speaker Greg Forbes Siegman, who will speak at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, in Kresge Theatre, CFA. Greg devoted more than four years to hosting weekly brunch meetings for students and professional mentors in the Chicago area. His community service has morphed into a successful non-profit foundation and national recognition for Forbes Siegman as an entrepreneur and Jefferson Award winner. His presentation will cover why he believes young people should make use of their power to make change, how they can do so, and the lessons he's learned about leadership and intentional self development along the way.
