Take a look at what Dining Services has to offer. You'll find many different venues that will make you a satisfied customer.

A quick overview:

The Hard Knox Cafe: Named by students, the Hard Knox Cafe offers a wide variety of menu options in an all-you-can eat cafeteria setting. Depending on the meal, choices may include cereals and home style breakfast selections; vegetarian options (including vegan) and exciting ethnic entrees; traditional American favorites; a variety of freshly baked pizzas; choice of soups; an incredible salad bar; pasta, sauces and accompaniments; and a variety of desserts, puddings, ice cream, frozen yogurt, cookies and more. Soda, juice, coffee, milk and other assorted beverages are available at every meal.

Oak Room: The Oak Room, with its high ceilings and oak paneling, offers a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. The menu features specialty sandwiches, salads and soups for lunch Monday through Friday and theme menus Monday through Thursday evenings. A carry-out meal option is also available.

Breakfast Xpress: Originally located at the entrance to the Hard Knox Cafe, the Breakfast Xpress was moved to the Oak Room to provide not only cold, but also hot menu items.  Menu options encompass a variety of juices, coffee, cereal, daily breakfast sandwiches, and assorted pastries; all selections are packaged to go. Open Monday through Friday when classes are in session, it's a great option for people who are off to a fast start for the day!

Grab-N-Go Cart: The Grab-N-Go Cart, located in the main lobby of Seymour Hall and open Monday through Friday for lunch, may be your answer for those days when time is in short supply. You will find a number of selections—soups, freshly made sandwiches and salads, snacks and beverages—all offered in a way that will have you off and running in no time.

The Gizmo: The Gizmo, our campus snack bar, offers a variety of hot food from the grill, bagel pizzas, sub sandwiches, combo meals, fresh salads, desserts, beverages, gourmet coffee, and snacks. Luncheon specials are offered Monday through Friday when classes are in session. Dining Dollars, Flex Dollars, and cash are all accepted forms of payment.

The Out Post: Our campus convenience store, open seven days a week, is centrally located in Post Hall Lobby. The store offers a wide variety of beverages, snack items, grocery staples, toiletries, and general merchandise. Dining Dollars, Flex Dollars, and cash are all accepted forms of payment.

The Out Post Express: Connected with our campus convenience store and open Monday through Friday for lunch; it's central location in Post Lobby and daily grab-n-go menu options may be the answer to a day packed with multiple activities.

Meal Plans: Knox meal plans are designed with an emphasis on flexibility.  There is a Knox Meal Plan to fit any lifestyle.  Each plan consists of a specific number of meals, Dining Dollars that can be spent just like cash at any Dining Service location, and Guest Meals that allow you to bring family members and friends to dine with you, all of which can be used whenever and however you like each term. Unused meals and Dining Dollars are non-transferable and do not "roll" from term to term.

With five different plans at varying levels of meals, Dining Dollars and Guest Meals, we are sure to have a plan that fits your lifestyle.  Best of all, the plans are identically priced, so there is no additional cost to having the plan that is just right for you.   Additional spending power may be added with the purchase of Flex Dollars at any time. Flex Dollars may be used the same as cash at all Dining Service locations, as well as at campus copy machines and in the Knox College Bookstore.
