General Interests
"As a professional social worker, while I worked in several different fields of practice, the bulk of my professional career was in the area of public child welfare delivery. In this field I started as a front line direct service worker with with caseloads of intact families as well as families with children in foster care; I also investigated reports of suspected child abuse and neglect. The latter part of my child welfare was spent in the management and administrative area having responsibility for the management and administration of child abuse and neglect investigations in downstate Illinois (i.e. all counties other than Cook county in Illinois.) In this latter capacity I also had policy development, labor relations, staff development/training, personnel administration, contract administration, fiscal management responsibilities - the kind of responsibilities that come with a child welfare management and administration job positions in the public social service sector."
