General Interests
"I am interested in cultural productions that testify gender and class positions of political struggle in times of State crisis. My forthcoming book deals with the newspapers and magazines produced by the anarcho-feminist movement during the turbulent and unstable years prior to the fascist coup d'état that led to the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). In those texts I study the anarchist visions of alternative and liberating models of family, gender, and sexuality in the post-capitalist anarchist imaginary.

Currently, I am working on two projects. Firstly, I am working with the productions of the video-activist movement after the economic crisis of December 2001 in Argentina, particularly on the factories and business collectivization movement on a national scale. I look into grass roots producers that focus on productive representations of horizontalist modes of production as an alternative to the present capitalist structure, both within the Argentine capitalist State at a national level, and within the neo-liberal globalization as a world system. Secondly, I am working on the anarchist collectivization of the film industry during the Spanish Civil War. I am interested in those film documentaries that were urgently produced in order to inform and report on the Spanish Social revolution."

What Students Say
"Not only is Professor Prado a native speaker who wants to aid students with the finer points of Spanish grammar, but his re-contextualized and insightful interpretations of literary works and historical texts are one-of-a-kind. He effortlessly wins students over with his warmth and laid-back attitude. He does not attempt to put on affected professorly airs, but instead earns respect by giving it. Professor Prado is devoted to the variety of themes discussed in class, and he genuinely wants students to grow in their understanding until they reach a higher level of enthusiasm and appreciation for these issues. Professor Prado's classes are addictive: once you take one, you'll want to take them all."
-Laurie Nowak, Spanish and Environmental Journalism Major
