Flashback

Thanks to the keen eyes Phyllis Holowaty Albrecht '56, Don Lisio '56, and Marlene Pankow Hellwig '56, we now know that the freshman picnic featured in the Fall 2012 Flashback was not from 1957 but, rather, from 1952!

"The freshmen in the photo are my classmates of the Class of '56, thus placing the picnic in September '52," wrote Phyllis.

While Don also caught our error, he disagrees with his classmate on the identification of one individual: "The young woman at the top left of the photograph who was looking down at the picnic box lunch is Dolores Dressander '56. (She did not remain the entire four years.)"

Marlene adds a few more details: "[The picnic] was held Monday, September 15, 1952, 5:30 p.m. at Lake Storey -- the buses left the campus at 4:30! I have the Orientation Schedule in my scrap book! And I recall you were assigned a partner to share your box supper. Also note we all had a bottle of Coke!"
