1957 Freshman Picnic

This freshman picnic at Lake Storey was part of the 1957 freshman program. In the orientation program booklet for that year, it states that the picnic took place on Saturday, September 14, 1957, at 5:30 p.m. It was open to all new students and was just one of many events called "getting acquainted" parties. Picnic events may have included volleyball, treasure hunts, and sing-a-longs. Was this the location of the famous shoe toss about which many alumni fondly reminisce?
