Dorothea Tanning '32: From Knox College Roots to Worldwide Fame

Dorothea Tanning '32 is one of Knox's most internationally acclaimed alumni for her achievements in the fields of painting, sculpture, poetry, fiction, memoir, and both set and costume design for theatre and dance. She celebrated her 100th birthday in 2010 and has a new book of poetry being published in 2011. Robin Metz, director of Knox's renowned Program in Creative Writing, will discuss the cross-disciplinary genius of Tanning's work based on the Dorothea Tanning Festival and Symposium held at Knox in May 2011.
