Private and Outside Scholarships

Outside Scholarships

Obtaining outside scholarships.
Don't overlook the possibility of scholarships from private organizations and foundations based on your ethnic group or church affiliation, your parents' employment, your own academic interests, and your great academic record.

Knox allows you to benefit as much as possible from any scholarship you receive from a private source. Generally, outside scholarships add to the scholarship/grant portion of your financial aid package and reduce your family contribution, the amount you and your family have to pay. The work study and educational loan portions of your financial aid award will only be reduced if it's necessary to meet federal regulations.

Be sure to check with your high school counseling office for scholarship tips and resources, and view the helpful links below. Feel free to stop by the Office of Financial Aid and review the scholarship information we've been sent by private agencies.
