Peace Corps Program Curriculum

Coursework:
  • Foreign language study: 2 years
  • Area studies/international studies: 4 courses chosen from the course list
  • Students interested in teaching will take a minimum of 3 courses from the Educational Studies Department. Course work in ESL is also recommended for these students.

Enhancements -- Minimum of 1 of the following:

  • Off campus study with an international program
  • Business/management/account internship
  • Experience in agriculture and/or construction/skilled trade
  • Tutoring/teaching experience
  • Health care/outreach experience

Volunteer service/internship in a community service development project -- Minimum of fifty hours by the end of the junior year, with at least 100 hours by graduation.

Horizons 2012: Art and Writing Awards

"Horizons: A Celebration of Student Inquiry, Imagination, and Creativity" at Knox College in May 2012 included award presentations in art, art history, fiction, poetry and playwriting.

Horizons 2012 Student Performances

Horizons 2012 featured student work in the performing arts -- dance and music -- including the Knox College Choir's world premiere of "Youth and Pioneers: An Ode" and the formal Spring Dance Concert.
