Meet the Physics Faculty

Thomas Moses Thomas Moses, Chair
Professor of Physics
Ph.D., University of California-Berkeley, 1993
"With the help of Knox students, I am using a variety of techniques-evanescent-wave ellipsometry, magnetic and electric field-induced birefringence, and light scattering-to probe the molecular ordering near surfaces and fluctuations in bulk samples."
Charles Shulz Charles Schulz
Professor of Physics
Ph.D., University of Illinois, 1979
"My research is in molecular biophysics, an area that overlaps physics, chemistry and biology. I am interested in structure/function relations in the metal centers of metalloproteins."
Mark Shroyer Mark Shroyer
Associate Professor of Physics
Ph.D., Oregon State University, 1999
"My research involves the study of molecular magnetism. Working closely with Knox students and using a SQUID susceptometer, we investigate the magnetic interactions between metal ions in inorganic molecules."

Emeritus Faculty
