The Office of Academic Affairs maintains and enhances the quality of the educational programs of the College, overseeing the curriculum and the faculty, as well as student research, academic counseling, and off-campus study. |
The Dean's Office The Dean of the College is Knox's chief academic officer. The Dean is responsible for providing leadership for the faculty to articulate the academic mission of the College, for attracting and sustaining outstanding faculty members to Knox, for enriching curricular opportunities both on campus and through off-campus study, for instilling the College's commitment to diversity in the hiring practices and the curriculum, and for sustaining the faculty's ability to bring innovation and imagination to the discussion of pedagogical and intellectual issues.
The Associate Dean of the College is responsible for assisting students with questions and concerns pertaining to their academic lives and for guiding students faced with academic difficulty. The Associate Dean also oversees the academic advising system, the College Honor Code, and the Honors Program. Additional duties include advising students about graduate scholarships and coordinating assessment of academic programs.
Reporting to the Dean's office are the academic department chairs and the Director of Athletics, in addition to an administrative staff responsible for key educational resources of the College, including Seymour Library, Science Library, Computing Center & Telecommunications, the Office of Instructional Technnology Support, the Registrar's Office, and the Center for Global Studies.
