Title IX at Knox
Knox College Policy and Procedures Addressing Discrimination, Harassment, and Sexual Misconduct
Knox College does not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or sexual misconduct (including sexual assault and sexual violence). Any violation of these policies may be subject to disciplinary action. The College Discrimination, Harassment, and Sexual Misconduct Grievance Procedures have been established to address complaints alleging that a student has violated this Policy. Complaints alleging discrimination, harassment, or sexual misconduct against a staff member should be directed to a supervisor or the Director of Human Resources. Complaints alleging such conduct against a faculty member should be directed to the Dean of the College.
It is important that every member of the College community understands that College policy prohibits discrimination and harassment between all members of the College community: for example, between an instructor and a student, between two students, or between a student and an applicant or campus guest. This policy applies in all College programs and activities, including, but not limited to, discrimination in athletics, instruction, grading, College housing, and College employment.
In addition, the College prohibits retaliation against an individual for opposing any practices forbidden under this policy, for bringing a complaint of discrimination or harassment, for assisting someone with such a complaint, for attempting to stop such discrimination or harassment, or for participating in any manner in an investigation or resolution of a complaint of discrimination or harassment. It is central to the values of the College that any individual who believes he or she may have been the target of prohibited discrimination or harassment feels free to report their concerns for appropriate investigation and response, without fear of retaliation or retribution.
