This summer, Knox students are applying what they've learned in the classroom at locales around the world -- from Kenya to Barcelona, New York City to Guatemala. Through internships and research, they are gaining real-world experience, writing for major newspapers and magazines, supporting entrepreneurs, collaborating with researchers at other universities, providing medical and emotional support, and so much more. Here's what a few of them have been doing through summer internships and research:
Pudong Institute for the U.S. Economy
Allister researched health care systems in the U.S. and China during her internship at the Pudong Institute for the U.S. Economy in Shanghai, China.
Tri-Mission to France, U.S. Consulate
As a state department intern, Katie drafts press reviews and participates in ceremonies commemorating the two World Wars.
Boeing
Tiesa is responsible for providing estimates for retrofit change requests for the Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliners.

As an Office of Economic and Business Policy intern, Philip organizes focus groups with small businesses and accompanies Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa at business openings.
Research: Embryo Imaging
Kelli is imaging Xenopus laevis (frog) embryos in vivo throughout development using an ultra-compact MRI and collaborating with researchers at other universities.
