Summer Internships and Research
This summer, Knox students are applying what they've learned in the classroom at locales around the world -- from Kenya to Barcelona, New York City to Guatemala. Through internships and research, they are gaining real-world experience, writing for major newspapers and magazines, supporting entrepreneurs, collaborating with researchers at other universities, providing medical and emotional support, and so much more. Here's what a few of them have been doing through summer internships and research:
Allister Byrd
Pudong Institute for the U.S. Economy
Allister researched health care systems in the U.S. and China during her internship at the Pudong Institute for the U.S. Economy in Shanghai, China.
Katie Miller
Tri-Mission to France, U.S. Consulate
As a state department intern, Katie drafts press reviews and participates in ceremonies commemorating the two World Wars.

Boeing
Tiesa is responsible for providing estimates for retrofit change requests for the Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliners.

CISPES
Samantha is interning with the Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador (CISPES) on the first international literacy brigade.

As Green As It Gets
Annika is a development intern who helps obtain grants and manage microloans to support Guatemalan entrepreneurs.
