Rocketry Club

A new club on campus during the 2008-2009 school year, the Rocketry Club hopes to provide students with the ability, supplies, and know-how to make their own completely self-created model rocket.

Goals

  • Building and successfully launching a rocket that originates in its entirety from the club
  • Making rocket parts and fuel independently from businesses and hobby shops
  • Observing and studying the speed, dimension, and apogee of existing rockets

By studying the way rockets work, students in the club hope to adapt their observations to create their own models and new ideas.

The club aims to eventually finish a completely club-designed and club-constructed rocket (in everything from the frame to the fuel). It also hopes to exceed the performance of model rockets currently available. Even if you've never even thought about building your own rocket, if you're interested in learning how, join the club and learn with others.
