Newman Club
A Catholic organization on campus, the Newman Club aims to increase understanding of the faith amongst those who identify as Catholic as well as those who are curious and want to learn more.
Meetings and masses hosted by the Newman Club are open to everyone.
Goals
- To create a space in which people feel comfortable enough to ask hard questions about the faith
- Offer meetings for people to discuss issues of faith
In the past, discussions have included topics such as:
- The books of Revelations and Romans
- Living one's faith in today's culture
- The Crusades
- The ethical issues raised by the AIDS crisis
- Forgiveness
- The Pope's encyclical on hope
All discussion topics are selected by students, and all discussions are student-led.
Meetings are held regularly, and are open to anyone.
