Friends Across Borders

An integral part of the Knox experience is learning about diversity and new cultures hands-on, outside of the classroom experience. With Friends Across Borders, students have the chance to seek out and make friends with people of other cultures.

Friends Across Borders is an on-campus language and cultural exchange program. The club exists to promote diversity and cultural understanding in the lives of Knox students by pairing students interested in learning about or studying other cultures or languages with another student who is native or proficient in that background.

Goals

  • Broaden the perspective of diversity at Knox
  • Establish international friendships
  • Help students improve language skills
  • Give insight to students about life in a county different than their own
  • Give students an appreciation for many varied cultures

Friends Across Borders hopes to help increase the worldview of all students at Knox, domestic or international, and lead to an appreciation and celebration of the differences between cultures.

Friends Across Borders meets regularly and all are welcome to attend.
