Academic Protocol

Academic Protocol

Every student at Knox should realize that in addition to taking the rules of the College to heart, it is important to be alert to matters of academic protocol.

Particularly important are the following:

  • Faculty cannot be held responsible for papers sent through the campus mail, entrusted to friends for delivery, or sent as attachments. What works best is to transmit your papers to your faculty in person.
  • If you do need to send a paper electronically, as for acknowledgement of receipt and save a back up copy.
  • If you want to see your advisor or your instructor, ask in person for an appointment. If you send an e-mail to request an appointment, suggest times that would work. To see a Dean, call the office of the dean you wish to see to request an appointment.
