What to do when you get sick

IN AN EMERGENCY: If you believe you are experiencing a serious medical emergency, call an ambulance or you may call a cab and ask to be taken to the emergency room.

(Note: Student Health Service does not pay for ambulance service or emergency room care.)

WHEN CLASSES ARE IN SESSION

Daytime: Go to the Student Health Center, Furrow Hall, 175 W. Knox Street. No appointment is necessary. Hours are Monday 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Tuesday through Friday 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

At Night: Visit Prompt Care in the city of Galesburg. You will be charged a Knox College discounted rate of $60; additional expenses (e.g., lab fees, prescriptions) may also apply.

 Contact the Office of Student Development for assistance notifying your professors, coaches, and campus supervisors.

DURING WINTER AND SPRING BREAK

When classes are not in session, visit Prompt Care or the Galesburg Clinic. During these times you will not need to pay an office visit fee at these facilities.

Off-campus coverage effective:
• August 17, 2009 through September 6, 2009
• November 23, 2009 through January 3, 2010
• March 15, 2010 through March 23, 2010
• June 5, 2010 – Commencement
