Data Coordinator
The McNair Program of Knox College is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Data Coordinator. This is a half-time position with flexible hours that reports to the Director of the McNair Program.
The McNair Program is a grant-funded program through the U.S. Department of Education and has enjoyed a long history with Knox College. Currently in its 14th year, the McNair Program has served more than 150 first generation-low income students and students of color. Through participation in the McNair Program, students are engaged in research-based activities and scholarly applications that prepare them for graduate and PhD programs.
The Data Coordinator works closely with the Director and the Academic Coordinator to ensure that all grant regulations are followed and satisfied, manages the grant databases, collaborates with a technology consulting firm to keep data organized according to changing government standards, and prepares analyses of data for use in program evaluation and report generation. Other duties include, but are not limited to, managing the program website and equipment loan program, organizing student files, conducting alumni surveys and collecting post-graduate data, writing program newsletters, arranging travel plans, participating in student selection, and engaging in program events. Bachelor's degree is preferred, though qualified candidates with the appropriate educational background will be considered. Three years of office experience and/or data management preferred. Candidates with a fluency in technology and technical systems while still possessing the social and personal skills to foster student learning and engagement will be given priority consideration. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access) required. Renewal of the position is contingent on grant funding.

Senior Secretary for VP for Student Development and Dean of StudentsKnox College is seeking a Senior Secretary for the VP for Student Development and Dean of Students. This individual will work collaboratively with other areas of Student Development as well as several other departments/offices on campus.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, arranging meetings/appointments; maintaining calendars; answering, screening, and directing phone calls; preparing and distributing correspondence using mail merge; maintaining current student files; working extensively in the College database; reconciling corporate credit card and travel expense reports; making domestic and international travel arrangements; updating Office of Student Development organizational chart; hiring and supervising student worker; maintaining and distributing lists of students returning to and departing from campus; and notifying professors of student absences.
Necessary qualifications: Associate Degree or equivalent education and experience, minimum of one year secretary/administrative assistant experience, expertise using MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher. Desirable qualifications: strong interpersonal skills and experience dealing with a diverse population. The ideal candidate will also possess the ability to handle sensitive information in a highly confidential, professional manner and be able to manage a busy outer office that serves as a triage center for questions and concerns of students, parents, faculty, and staff.
