Multicultural Student Orientation

The Multicultural Student Orientation (MSO) began in the summer of 2000 as a student-driven initiative. Multicultural students, who were mostly members of the African American and Latino Student Unions, felt that an orientation would aid in the retention and success of multicultural students and help make the students feel a part of the Knox and Galesburg communities. The orientation would also give new multicultural students the opportunity to meet current multicultural students, faculty, and staff and learn about the Galesburg community.

Due to the success of the Multicultural Student Orientation, this supplemental program lives on. Current students, who volunteered to be orientation leaders, will be greatly involved in the organization of the MSO 2009 schedule. These students look forward to meeting the new multicultural students and implementing the activities in the summer of 2009.
