5,523 Knox Alumni -- You Did It!

Thank you to 5,523 Knox alumni who gave to Knox by midnight on June 30 -- that's more alumni than in any other year of Knox's 172-year history. 5,523 alumni represent a more than 10% increase over last fiscal year and raise Knox's alumni giving percentage rate from 33% to 36%. THANK YOU!

Your generosity also helped Knox receive $100,000 from Duke '74 and Nancy Petrovich. In March, they extended a challenge to the Knox community -- if 5,000 alumni gave by June 30, they'd give Knox $100,000 -- and Knox alumni more than met the challenge and Duke and Nancy's gift has arrived.

Here are a few other fundraising facts that you should know:

• Knox raised $3.2 million in annual operating gifts, money that will be put to immediate use supporting Knox's budget, and $6 million in total gifts.
• 55 Knox students participated in the 2008-09 Knox Fund phonathon, calling more than 5,000 alumni and friends and raising more than $435,000. 
• Alumni of all ages contacted classmates by phone, e-mail, and Facebook encouraging each other to give.

Again, thank you to everyone who gave to Knox this year. Your generosity and enthusiasm in these challenging economic times is a resounding vote of confidence in the quality and importance of a Knox education.
