
Women's basketball at Knox is full of energy and high-paced action. An aggressive defense combined with a quick transition offense gives Prairie Fire fans an exciting team to cheer for.
Tuesday night in Knox College's 88-20 victory over Lincoln Christian, the Prairie Fire women's basketball team broke team records in four different categories.

Jenny Haskell, a junior guard from Murphys, California (Bret Harte HS) was named to the Caltech/Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Holiday Classic All-Tournament team on December 20, 2009.

Sara Johnson, a freshman from Grinnell, Iowa (Grinnell High School), has been named the Knox College Prairie Fire Performer of the Week. The freshman guard led the Prairie Fire women's basketball team in scoring to help secure the Prairie Fire's first win of the 2009-2010 season over Principia College, 81-47.
The Prairie Fire women picked up their ninth win of the season as they defeated Lawrence University for the second time this season with a score of 54-50. The Prairie Fire battled back from a 14 point deficit as the Vikings lead 18-4 with 9:13 minutes left in the first half. By half time the Prairie Fire had chipped away to make the score 28-25 in favor of the Vikings. Five minutes in to the second half the Prairie Fire tied it up at 33 before the Vikings once again pulled ahead. The Vikings maintained the lead for most of the second half before the Prairie Fire took it with 3:30 left and held onto until the end.
