Arielle Dorman named Prairie Fire Performer of the Week

Leads Prairie Fire in most offensive categories, scored 3 goals in 4 games

September 15, 2009

Arielle Dorman, a freshman from Bothell, WA (Inglemoor High School), has been named Knox College Prairie Fire Performer of the Week after beginning her collegiate soccer career by scoring three goals in her first four games.

The first goal came in her first game of her Prairie Fire career, as Dorman found the back of the net against Franklin College on September 5th. Dorman would follow up her first career goal when she beat Eureka's Sami Williamson with a right footed shot from straightaway, to tie the game the game up at 1-1, and send the game into double overtime; though the Prairie Fire would eventually fall 2-1.

For her third goal, Dorman took Emma Swanson's pass and beat William Penn's goalkeeper, this time in the 85th minute, to give the Prairie Fire their lone goal on the afternoon. Dorman currently leads the Prairie Fire in almost all offensive categories, as she leads the team with 3 goals, 6 points, and 15 shots, 10 of which were on goal. Dorman's third goal in only her fourth game gives her as many goals as the Prairie Fire's leading scorer in 2008 had in 18 games.

Dorman and her teammates will take on Iowa Wesleyan College at home on Wednesday September 16, 2009 at 4:00pm. Come out and show your support for Prairie Fire athletics!
