Costs and Expenses

The Knox College Program in Argentina

Whale watching is an educational excursion that's included in the cost of the Knox College program in Buenos Aires, Argentina.Though modest increases may occur, the 2009 Program Fees are:

One Term $13,025

Upon acceptance into the program, you will receive an exact schedule of fees and refunds. Financial aid is available.


The program fees cover:

Round trip airfare on a regularly scheduled commercial air flight from Chicago, IL
Room and board
Hospital insurance for payment of medical expenses up to $12,500
One transcript sent to the home institution
Tuition and University fees
Educational trips to Igauzú and Patagonia
$200 for travel in Argentina

Not included in the program fees are:

Passport and travel documents
Travel insurance

Incidentals
Students will encounter personal expenses for books, entertainment and travel. Estimated weekly expenses include: bus/subte $5, food/beverage $17, books/photocopies $15, entertainment $23, and laundry $2.

Financial Aid
All participants are eligible to apply for financial aid, which will be granted on the basis of need and to the extent of funds available. The amount of financial aid (which may include grant and/or loans) will be determined after the student completes an official application for financial aid. (Knox College students do not need to fill out this form.)

Knox Among Top Colleges for Fulbright Scholar Awards in 2009-10

Knox College is one of the top liberal arts colleges in the nation for Fulbright Scholar grants awarded to faculty during 2009-2010. Karen Kampwirth is studying feminism and politics at the University of Buenos Aires, and Jeremy Day O'Connell is conducting musicology and linguistics research at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.

Music Concerts and Recitals

The Knox-Sandburg Community Concert Band, Knox Wind Ensemble, and individual music students perform in concert and recital, November 13 through 17 at Knox College.
