A few ways in which we lead:

  1. Our student government actually governs. The Student Senate helps determine how funds from our student activity fee are spent, makes student appointments to faculty committees, and serves as a forum for the debate of critical issues on campus. Our students shape the future of Knox; their work is a lasting legacy.
  2. We take responsibility for ourselves and each other. Students serve on our Honor Board; in 1951, students established our Honor Code (and we haven't had a proctored test since).
  3. We bring the campus to life. Students serve with faculty and staff on the Intramurals Board, the Sustainability Task Force, the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council, and committees that interview and hire new faculty and staff. Students run the Union Board, which is responsible for planning and organizing campus-wide concerts, lectures, and other events. Taking an active role in shaping the life of the community-that's a fundamental part of being a student here.
