Experiences & Opportunities

1. Enrich your education outside the classroom.

• Pre-Law Club brings local attorneys and other legal professionals to campus monthly to discuss careers, their path to success, and answer questions about law school admissions. 
• JusticeCorps students work at the Knox County Courthouse, providing essential help to individuals who need assistance in moving through the legal process. JusticeCorps is a joint program between the Illinois Bar Foundation and AmeriCorps.
• Law School Admission Practice Testing prep sessions are held three time weekly during spring term. Raising an LSAT scores not only increases law school acceptance rates, but increases the amount of financial aid a student may receive.

2. Study off campus.

Washington Semester gives students a chance to observe government in action in the nation's capital. In seminars, participants meet with public officials, political figures, lobbyists, and others active in the federal government. Students complete research projects often based on an internship in a governmental agency.

Many students considering careers in law also participate in summer institutes. Among these are the Summer Institutes in Public Policy, convening at New York University, and the Council on Legal Education Opportunity (CLEO), sponsored by the American Bar Association, held each summer on a law school campus and designed to introduce students to skills essential to the study of law.

3. Explore life after Knox through an internship.

As a student of law at Knox, you'll have the opportunity to expand your education by completing an internship. Many students complete law-related, political, and public policy internships. Recent internships include:
